Security is an Attitude

I have been in the great city of
Banglore for a few days and have enjoyed meeting with some talented
folks. I was made aware of several positions open in a wide variety of
IT areas, but more importantly in Security. I asked the persons most
responsible for hiring why there were so many vacancies when the
unemployment was stable and even a bit high. Were they not getting
resumes?

The Solution To Mobile Phone Deadlock? Somebody Has To Die

Every time we butt up against some
rotten problem in the mobile phone world, everyone's got someone else
to blame. The solution: Kill somebody (metaphorically).
The triumvirate of phone manufacturers, mobile carriers, and
entertainment companies are the world's reigning champions at shifting
blame and pointing fingers. Ask Apple why it won't let you use any song
in your iTunes library as an iPhone ringtone and they'll tell you it's
the fault of the greedy record companies.

What will CEOs need in 2017?

I attended the Event Processing Summit
in Orlando last week and probably the most interesting presentation was
given by Dr. Mani Chandi from the California Institute of Technology.
Mani did a great job of explaining the important role that event
processing plays today but it was his vision of the future that really
caught my interest.
